Summary: A line of severe thunderstorms will approach the area from the west late Sunday night into Monday morning. There is an additional threat of severe storms on Wednesday.
Primary hazards: Damaging winds, large hail
Secondary hazards: A tornado or two, flash flooding
Timing: 3:00 AM to 9:00 AM Monday morning, Wednesday
Discussion:
An Enhanced Risk has been placed for areas along and west of I-65 through Monday morning. The timing has changed a bit the past few days, but NAM is showing more of a Monday morning instead of Sunday night. Tornado paramaters are ahead of the main line once it races out of the Mid-South region (highest across Little Rock/Memphis), but Supercell Composite models runs are hanging in there until the sunrise Monday. NWS forecast highlights that the severe threat will lessen as the line enters AL, and this is the current SPC forecast.
