After a break from the heat last week, it’s coming back. Heat index values will climb up until the triple digits, and peak near 110 by mid-week!
Heat Advisories are already posted for many Alabama counties and more are expected to be issued.
A HEAT ADVISORY has been issued for NW Alabama from 1 PM to 8 PM today, where heat index values are forecast to exceed 105°F. Heat Indices of 97-104°F are forecast elsewhere across the Tennessee Valley. Be sure to take frequent breaks in the shade and stay hydrated!A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of Central Alabama through Tuesday. Heat index values 105 to 109 are possible. Remember to take extra precautions if spending time outside, including frequent breaks and re-hydration.Heat related deaths are preventable.
