MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, including the following areas, in Alabama, Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin AL, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan. In southern middle Tennessee, Franklin TN, Lincoln, and Moore.

* From noon CDT today through this evening

* Multiple periods of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are likely, with localized amounts of 4 to 5 inches.

* Excessive runoff is expected to increase the potential for flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

* MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAIN MAY TRAIN OVER THE SAME AREAS ACROSS THE NORTH. RAINFALL TOTALS THROUGH TONIGHT WILL BE BETWEEN 2 AND 3.5 INCHES.
